Dr. Myriam Casillas is currently the Program Manager for Academic Research at CPRIT. Previously she held Managing Director and Senior Director roles at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, where she created the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and played a critical role in developing the institution as a fully independent and accredited medical university. She received her master’s and doctoral degrees in Public Health from The University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston. Dr. Casillas has also managed several research projects, including the Hispanic Center of Excellence grant and Project AMIGAS: “Increasing Cervical Cancer Screening in Mexican Women.”
